i didnt know were i should place this post but here goes.. i read a article about optimizing win XP. everything was straight forward exept the part about virtual memory, it said that i should set the virtual memory to 1.5 or 2 times as much as my ram.. i have 2 512 mg ram and i set virtual memory to 2000.. is this cool or what should i set it to? i also have 2 hard drives, do i set 2000 to both of my drives? or just disable it? it said some recommend it if its over 512 but it might make comp not stable? so do i set both drives and what should i set it to?

Here are a couple of links that may assist you, if you don't already know them:

On the subject of vitual memory though, there still remains a lot of contention. I think the latest view accepted by most is that if you have a Gig or more of RAM you don't need to do anything. In fact my conclusion from following the subject of XP teaking for DAWs fairly closely is that unless you are experiencing specific problems there is little you actually need to do. Just be sensible and don't try to have things running in the background while you are recording.

Good Luck!!
