Hello Everyone,

I couldn't quite figure out which forum to put this under, so I took a shot in the dark with this one. This issue seemed right up yall's ally as well.

I'm looking to be able to feed a mixer into an Xbox Controller, and connect a set of speakers up to be able to listen as well. The headset connects to the controller using a 2.5mm jack, just like what is used on nearly every cell phone headset. I have attempted connecting the controller to the mixer using the line out and the master out, trying all wiring combinations on both, all to no avail. So now I am curious as to if perhaps the headset works is on a different audio level. I know I haven't blown the piece that connects to the controller because when I stick the old headset back in it, it works properly.

If anyone is curious the purpose of this is to enable my friends and I to jam out over xbox live while someone else is playing Halo. Thanks again in advance for any ideas.

I am also interested in this. I want to be able to feed samples from my computer to the xbox mic line.

The xbl headset is definitely the same as a cell phone 2.5 mm headset. I know this because I use one.

I have built a little line level to mic level circuit based on these diagrams:

I don't think the resistors are right because although it works the level is very low and heavily distorted.

I also know that I actually need headphone level to mic level since that is what my computer puts out. When I feed headphone out to this circuit I don't get anything but it does work with line level.

I appreciate any assistance. If you are the first to give me a circuit diagram that converts common headphone output to mic level, that I can successfully build, I'll paypal you $10

I also hope to record some of the jerks on xbox live so if a cheapo mixer/other solution exists that does the headphone to mic level as well I'm all ears.
