Most DAWs can only operate as ReWire masters, you have to check the specs of your apps to see if they can also be a ReWire slave.

Have you tried the Cakewalk forum or Fruity Loops forum? Have you scoured the manual? Fruity Loops may have to be installed as a plugin as well. Try scanning your vst folders again. Check and see if you have a Fruity Loops dll in c:program filessteinbergvst.

EDIT: There is a full chapter on this in the manual. It's called....wait for it......

You didn't try everything otherwise you wouldn't be asking at all. You didn't read the manual. Do you even have the manual? There is nothing worse than holding the hand of some kid who feels so entitled after downloading their software from some torrent site then expecting free tech support. I PAY for my software and always have. Your allegations make you seem like you try to prove yourself through downgrading others. Why would I pirate a 200 dollar DAW when I have spent 10s 0f thousands in hardware and other studio gear. That is extremely ignorant to imply. But I'm also sure that there are FREE downloadable manuals for any pirated software. Like I said before, I didn't have this problem before switching to all 64 bit software. It is unreal that people like you are allowed to moderate these sites which are for these kinds of questions to be answered. I am very experienced and know a vast amount about software because i do read the manuals thoroughly. Maybe a file has been placed in a wrong location and that is all. Although I really felt no need to respond to your reply, I am compelled to respond to you stereotyping me as a pirate. I have no need since I am not a kid, a working musician and have a real full time job that pays well. Save your judgements for the real pirates. How does one come to the conclusion that if a person doesn't read a manual they pirate software? I can just assume ignorance.

You are the one that got your panties in a bunch in the first place. Look at my first post. I gave you a viable answer. Go ahead and read that again.

If you had looked at the manual, all you would have had to do is say so. Instead you started calling names. I am suspicious. That is my nature. Windows software is easily pirated so, I don't give out information easily.

Consider also that user forums are exactly where you should pose this type of question since there you will get the majority of Sonar and Fruity Loops users. That is where most people ask these types of questions. When people come here asking simple questions like this I get suspicious because it seems the least likely place to post that kind of question.

So a little work on your part and the answer came quite easily. 64 bit rewire is available in FL as of version 10.

Edit: I take that back. 64 bit rewire is available from Propellerhead but it seems other companies have yet to adopt it. Sonar XI works fine with Melodyne and others in 64 bit.

You absolutly did call me a "kid" and a "pirate". Its not a problem though. I pay good money to have the toys I use in my studio and I did find that offensive. Im just not the type to talk down to anyone unless provoked. It seems uncalled for. I enjoy helping people figure things out so they dont have to waste creative time on technicalities. I apologize for being a little bent out of shape. I just think that a more cordial response would have been more appropriate.

Where in that quote does it say that the OP had gone from 32 bit to 64 bit Sonar? Of course this turned out to be the issue. The more info the better. Some forums even require a Sisoft Sandra report. Not this one because most DAWs aren't that picky. Only the "Pro" one. Simple point being, if you need an answer, make sure you cover all the bases in your question.

I will admit that you do have a valid point with that. I should have been more specific with the setup that I am using. I will list all of the above in my signature so this is avoided in further posts.
