I've never dealt with portable recorders so I could use some advice. All I need is 1-2 channels with built in mic preamp's and a monitor out put. It has to be able to record 1-2 hours of audio at a time. It doesn’t need to be high quality just clean. I just want to record the pasture doing his sermon at church.

Yup pretty much the same animal, but HD not Flash Memory. Cards come in up to 1Gb. But a big card will cost about $100 so maybe the extra for the HD portastudio would be a good investment.

Same quality - same with regard to everything except storage medium.

Go for it!!

All your other options would be a darn sight more.
