I've searched around the net to find products that are good for me but I felt lost in the middle of so many tecnical data!
Hope someone here can help me.
I record music playing guitar and bass with analog instrouments and using VST for drums and piano (my VST are NIbattery, NIb4, thegrand)

I'm happy to spend money for my gratest passion and I would buy something that satisfy me with amazing sound quality !

So i need a quality
sound card
audio converter
mic preamplifier
mic
almost everything!

sound card: Don't know really too confused

audio converter: RME? I think thay have grat products may be the ADI-8?

mic preamp: Millennia Origin STT-1?

Mic: RODE nt2000? I've read "KF's mic closet recommendations" I think I'll start with one good microphone!lol thanks Kurt grat post!

this would be my choises if some one have suggestion or indications for better stuff in this range of prices... please post a message!

thanks!

Here is my rule of thumb and I'm a newbie so take what I say with a grain of salt......

Don't blow a lot of money on a great mic to connect to a crappy preamp with a crappy cable. With audio gear I've noticed that you get what you pay for, but there are a few suprises to that rule (example: Shure SM57 is an $80 industry standard mic..you'd have a hard time finding a studio that doesn't at least consider using one per session)

I'd start by getting a nice interface....the RME FireFace looks pretty nice and the word around here is that RME makes nice gear.
