hi there,
I've been waiting for my DP3 copy for a couple weeks now, and I'm still waiting.
Anyway, I have a small problem to resolve.
I have a metla band tracking right now, and they got a sh*tty drumset.
Now, after trying so many processing, there's no way to get a "metal" bass drum sound out of it. I have a very nice soundfile at 24 bit, that sounds good, and it is almost exactly what I'm looking for. It was recorded with a very good drumset, and a proficent drummer, and it fit the style.
I need to know if there is a software, a plug or somethign like SoundReplacer for PT, that is specifically created for DP.
I've tried to zoom in at maximum on teh old kick track, and subsitute by hand all the kick shot. A BIG PAIN IN THE ASS.
It tooks me 1 hour and a half.

Any ideas?

ciao
ronnie

Not being a DP user, I have a limited knowledge of solutions...so if this is a stupid suggestion, just ignore it.

If you have a sampler, you should be able to trigger the sound from a midi note. As I understand it, DP has an audio-to-midi function (maybe it's only in 3.0?).

Otherwise, if you can find a drum module with trigger inputs such as the DM5, you can trigger a sound directly (assuming you find an internal sound you like). There will be a little latency, but you can either offset the midi track, or record it as audio and slide it back to match the original track.

Hope that helps...

There's a plugin from Db-audioware.com that has the ability to side chain/trigger. You could use that to havethe original kick trigger the new kick..thus everytime the old kick hits it tells the new one to hit! It's very nice...it's teh dynamics processor and it has the ability to sidechain 6 different things!! Check it out
