This site says that you can turn a linear pot into a taper pot by adding a resistor between the wiper and ground. Is it possible to emulate this the other way around? I have a taper tone pot and rather than replace the pots I'd like to know if I can mod them to be more linear in their response.

It's easy to make an Excel spreadsheet showing the resistance values and graphing them so you can see just how bad the result is.
Thanks. Oh, I know, I am just looking to get closer.

Hmm, I tried a resistor between the wiper and the unused lug of the tone pot just now and rather than flatten out the sweep all it did was make the cap do next to nothing. Maybe I should have tried it between the wiper and the back of the pot or something, but I'm done meddling with it tonight.
