What is a wavetable synthesis as seen on all Sound Blaster cards? Why does a SoundFont used with a Live! card sounds different when you use with an Audigy?is it related with the wavetable syn.?

It gets the basic sound from a sample file basically, then applies processing to do things like change the pitch and duration of the note. Things sound different on different cards becuase the card itself stores the samples.
