I am looking to create a chorus that sounds like it sung by a stadium of people.

The only idea I have come up with is to perhaps whisper the chorus several times, mix the takes together and add some monster reverb.

I'm not sure if this idea will 'sound' like I want it. I don't happen to be famous enough to get a stadium full of people to see me perform, nor is my chorus known to the masses to sing.

I'm just looking for a technique and or plugins that can help me achieve this sound.

Any input will be helpful.

Thanks.

Well - you may not have a whole stadium but i'm sure you've got a handful of friends/aquantances that you could drag out to the studio with the promise of a few cold beers :)

Setup a handful of mics (stereo pair close, + rooms if you can spare 'em) and have 5-6 people (male AND female!) stand a few feed back and belt out the chorus a couple times. Once they've done 5-6 takes (keep 'em all) you'll start to hear the effect you're after. Keep piling them on, mix to taste, add some 'verb and you should be good to go.

Good singers are not needed (or even desired) for something like this. A few drunken friends should be all you need.

if its possible for you then you can take them to a big place too first where there is huge reverb record them over there too..do multiple takes as mentioned above then to the same thing in your studio and then blend them together you will be amazed by the result...i did this In Pakistan i recorded a national anthem 2 years ago.. i used the same technique i mentioned i used 10 people and it sound big...
