i'm a little stuck in the way i mix vocals (r&b and pop).

i record the main voice plus the harmonic 2nd and 3rd voice.
the main voice i pan middle at 0dB
the 2nd voice i pan -30 at -7dB
the 3rd voice i pan +30 at -7dB
now i compress all that and put some effect on it (reverb or delay)...

I was very interested by all these informations which should be useful for myself too!

Does anyone know exactly what processing is happening on Nickleback's vocals. Eg. the overall eq - compression etc. How are they getting such a rich megaphone sound?( little bit of an oxy-moron ) Are they using specific plugins from Pro Tools? Thanks for any input

OKay, anyone that disses me for liking the Andrew WK "I Get Wet" record can lick my prostrate. That being said, what kind of vocal effect is used to achieve this sound? Specifically. I get close results with a harmonizer (Micro Pitch Shift on the H3000) and 6 voice choirs (480L with an effect car. Anyone? Mike Shipley mixed his ass off on this record.

After recording some vocals and applying some compression, how do you guys fit the vocals in the mix? I'm a newbie at mixing...so I'd like to know how the pros do it.

A better question to ask would be after recording some vocals - [just the lead vocals], what type of processing do you do on it?

Good? Bad? Do you know of something that you believe to be better? I'll be renting a pair here shortly so I'll be seeing for myself, but was just curious to hear of others experiances.
