First post. Woohoo. :D

Anyways...

I have an HP laptop (DV4000) with a Soundmax sound card. I'm using Adobe Audition 1.5, and a small Yamaha mixer, with the "Rec Out" of the board plugged into the mic input on the laptop. I know, not the greatest, but I use it to record basic tracks when they pop into my head so I won't forget 'em.

Does anybody know why is it appearing " C BIT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE SETTING" on the screen of DV-RA 1000?
It`s look like connection i made between ADC (from Focusrite TT pro) and DV-RA is OK. The sound is good and it seems like everything is perfect but anyway warning message is appearing when is turning on.

I've noticed a funny thing
just to do a test with a random software (in this case, any from Native Instruments) setting my soundcard to operate at 48Khz will produce a latency of "X", setting it to 96Khz will produce a latency of "X/2" (half...), and setting it to 192Khz will produce a gorgeus 1ms latency.

ok so this is my problem...I NEED an APPRENTICESHIP!

I'm totally new to recording. Well actually, no not really but I didnt even know about a standalone multi track recorder until recently. Anyway, I want something I can use to record our band demos, it doesnt have to be you know-the best sound but close to CD would rock.

Does anyone know where I can find info on or does anyone have info on the Inkel MX-1600 professional audio mixer with external power supply?

I own this model, bought it off my boss like three years ago - he was a welshman and had brought it to NZ with the ambition of setting up a production studio - never happened.

That's pretty much the question guys. I have heard the Dynaudio BM6 A's and they are lovely as expected but I have the option of purchasing a Quad 909 stereo amp (140 > 8 ohms, 250 > 4 ohms) and a pair of BM6 passives for the same price (all new) ...but cannot audition the DYN/QUAD combo and would have to purchase on spec/opinions alone.

Im looking to upgrade my studio monitors, right now I just have a pair of KRK Rokit RP-5's, which are ok, but Im looking to get something better, any suggestions? also they must be powered, active, whatever, you get it...

Since I've just finished this new song for this band I'm trying to put together I got curious and decided to throw it up here and see what you guys think. :) Now, bear in mind I'm using hi-fi speakers to monitor and mix on (Sony home theater 1600w "near-fields" :lol:).
