I have a Digidesign 002R running Pro Tools LE 6.9. I need to add 8 more XLR mic inputs/pres. Any ideas? I like the PreSonus Firepod but, will it work with the 002R? What do I need?

Does anyone have advice for how to approach a custom racking project (i.e. getting old console modules working as standalone units)? I'd like to attempt to do it myself, but I'm having trouble finding any good resources online or otherwise. Is the bottom line that an amateur really shouldn't expect to be able to do this? I hope not!

Close future: Dynaudio BM6passive + Tascam PA150.

Has anyone had any experience with either of these two consoles. I'm looking for an analog console to work with a Mix Plus system and/or DP. Are either of these out now? Would appreciate any and all info, especially those who have A-B'd them.

What would people recommend on this? I've used the search btw, havent really found anything useful for me. These would be used for both Recording & Mixing.

I am currently building a practise room for my drums and a small section for a mini studio. I do not have a huge budget but I am willing to save up over time for equipment.

There's been a lot of talk about drum recording lately, and it's been interesting reading about how people go after the modern sound with each drum miced individually and (ideally) popping out of the mix. But how were drums typically miced on the recordings of the 60's - James Brown, Atlantic/Stax, Motown, Beatles, old-school Nashville, 50s Jazz?

I have just purchased a new PC with an Audigy 24-Bit soundcard. I am recording vocals thru a pre-amp to my soundcard while wearing the headphones and playing a beat thru Acid. But when I play the Acid tracks back the tempo of the vocals is mildly faster than that of the beat.

I'm on my way to purchase a budget micpreamp. Have found two good deals on two separete products; a SPL Channel One and a TL Audio 5051 mk2. The SPL is second hand and the 5051 is brand new. The prices for them are about the same (990USD for the 50501, 1070USD for the SPL)
