Beginner - what's my best recording setup?

Hi all,

I'm a photographer and more recently videographer who's just starting out recording audio and my mate picked up an old (mono, cellphone unshielded) Sony mzm 300 shotgun mic which I've adopted and been loving!

I don't have an audio capture device but I use it for interviews and other video editing plugged into my Nikon d800.

Source Live: Realtime Remote A/V Streaming and Recording!

how did I miss this. Poking around the recent aes vids, this popped up! Man oh man! This is exactly what I had in mind, for my new setup/services/business model. Looks like someone did the heavy lifting! Wanted to avoid the Avid collab, so I can use multiple daws. No Samplitude support, or at least it's not listed. Shouldn't be long! RO jam anyone?

Where to sell acoustic panels?

I just closed my concert venue in West Columbia, SC, and I have a good many burlap-covered acoustic panels that I need to sell (both 2" and 1" thick, in 24" x 48" and 48" x 96" sizes). Can somebody recommend a good place where I could advertise these to engineers who work in recording studios, churches, or concert venues? (I'm trying ebay too, of course.)

The Industry Standard For Midi Drums

Is there an industry standard VST for acoustic and electric Midi Drums/Percussion ?
The bundled VST Percussion instruments that came with Cubase 7.5 are alright but I cant help but feel like they don't sound all that great. The majority of major label records released these days are using midi drums but they sound great.
So how are they doing it?
