Ghost of a chance...
Anyone have any experience with Symantec's Ghost program? I have had several issues with my system lately that a recovery program would have been very helpful with. Here are a few specific questions:

Speaker placement
I'm really crammed for space, the only way I can get my JBLs spaced evenly on either side of the table is to have them facing each other.
Is that Sacrelige? Will it compromise the quality of my sound?
The only other option I have is to put one a few feet away near the other side of the wall.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Opus, preparing for the build
Hi.
The computer parts are slowly arriving.
Got a few questions I'd like an answer to before I start assembling my "Eskimo DAW".
Here goes:
-Do you think I'll be needing any extra fans in my chieftec case?
-I've got the WD 120/8 and a seagate barracuda drive, do they need airspace around them(or even a fan) or may they be placed "slot-to-slot"?

Tama 'Air Ride' snare suspension stand
I was thumbing through old issues of Modern Drummer and came across a product review of Tama's Air Ride snare suspension stand.
Anyone who has tried it, watched, or worked with a drummer using one:
- Did the snare sound better, different, more "natural", more resonant? or what?
- Were rimshots more defined, singing, pronounced?

External A/D Converters. Improve XT20?
What audible difference is heard with quality A/D converters over the ones in the XT20?
Are there other reasons one would want to go with external converters in conjunction with an Alesis XT20?
What would be a good choice for converters to use with the XT20?
Ciao,
Woods

stereo pair for chamber music
I am looking for a good pair of small diaphragm cardioid condensers to use professionally on small classical ensembles and solo piano. What mics would one generally use for this purpose? Right now I am looking at Neumann KM184, Earthworks SR77, AKG C451B and Elation KM201. What does everyone think of these mics for this purpose?
