Upgrade Digi A/D - D/A or replace Digi ?
The consensus seems to be that the A/D - D/A converters on the Digi are just middle of the road. So does it make sense to use better converters in conjunction with the Digi or just move up from the Digi ?
Any info would be appreciated.

Kinda quiet in here (Tell me why I'm a moron)
It's time to get some life in this party! I'm sure you experts can enlighten me as to why I have made a Humoungous mistake in building a DAW based on the Iwill kk266+ mobo. What I have done is bought into the theory that for me, a musician 1st, computer geek 42nd, a stable, albeit dated, machine is far more important than bending the bleeding edge.
Any Noodles users?
Noodles = Nuendo as deemed by Jules.
I've been using it for surround mixing. It's actually quite nice with the UA PPI card. I don't mix entirely inside of it though. I use the digi or analog console dejour for ease of interface with preferred processors (API 2500, TC 6000, etc.) and the improved summing.
:D

How do you keep drugs and drink out of studio?
I'm considering opening a 16 track studio to make demo's for small bands. I've played drums for lots of bands over the years and have come across many musicians who are somewhat wild. I'd like to keep things on a professional level. Do you inform your clients ahead of time not to come in loaded and no alchahol allowed? I want them to be comfortable but don't want clowns wasting my time.
Waveburmer pro 2.1
Can anyone suggest a Firewire CD burner that is compatible with a Mac and Waveburner 2.1?
Emagic's website lists mechanism part numbers only...not models. Many of the mechanisms listed are already history.
I knew Waveburner wouldn't "see" my internal burners but it doesn't "see" my SCSI or QPS Firewire burner either.
Please advise.
Thanks.

STEVE or whomever may remember this,,,,
Due to the OS limitations of Win98 it can not record 24 bit audio files...does anyone know where there is a link to fully describe this issue or know what it is that does not permit 98 to do so? I know that you cant but I cant remember or cant find where I read it in full description!
Thanks Guys!

Latency issues
Can you track a band into Nuendo with just interfaces ? Or do you have to crap around with a console to 'work round' latency - for pre converter headphone sends...
In other words is PT still in the lead or has Nuendo caught up?

which dither to use L2 or sonic solutions?
I recently purchased the L2 to use in conjunction with my finalizer plus and sonic solutions.
Before i got the L2 i would always dither 24 bit sources to 16 with sonic solutions, but the L2 says it's dither will make the 16 bit sound more like 19.

Jules in EQ magazine!
Julian,
Congratulations on your overview of the studio in EQ (p26 Feb issue). It looks really great. I just left a blurb over at RAP about it too :D .
