dual processor motherboard
there seems to be a lot of mention of dual processor systems in various forums here.
consequently there is a lot of referral to MSI's dual athlon board, but it seems like not many are aware of the others.
ASUS just recently announced their athlon dual processor solution, the A7M266-D (AMD760 MPX chipset)

Recordings with Neve Sound?
Hi. Can anyone recommend a specific recording with extensive use of Neve preamps, both vocal and for tracking instruments? A recent recording with a clone would be fine. I have seen the mantra repeated here numerous times and would like to hear for myself. I am a hobbyist getting serious about my tone.

Anyone else think ADATs sound better than Pro Tools?
I did a three piece band on ADATs, thru a Tascam board. Made a ruff mix of one of the songs on the Tascam. Then, digitally transferred the ADATs into Pro Tools LE, set to the same sampling rate and bit depth. Tried a ruff mix internally in Pro Tools, and the ruff I did off the ADATs thru the Tascam desk squashes the Pro Tools mix like a grape!
To verb or not to Verb
I've noticed trends in the amount of reverb used on lead vox. With more modern recordings leading to more of a dry sound, but I'm sure there is still a little bit being used. Are there any hard and fast rules? should the reverb be stereo or mono?

newbie question
i was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.
i'm planning on doing some software synthesis along with effects and sampling. so far i've found that Cubase will be my mixing console.
i'm looking for good quality synthesis, i've found: crusher-x live (a granuler effects program) very cool
maybe some native instruments programs

Reference Monitor Placement
I am setting up my new Hafler TRM 8s and I ran into a dilemma. I purchased some Omnistudio mounts for bottom mounting and attached the mounts to the wall. How high can I place these monitors? Can I put them above my head and then tilt them down and still get the same imaging as setting them flat? Any problems with sound this close to the wall (6-12")?
