Even with quite a bit of searching and head-scratching, I couldn't find a better suited sub-forum for this specific question so here goes.
If there's already a thread that adresses this problem of mine, please do not hesitate to kick me into that direction.

Tldr version first for Your convenience:

i have few recording gears like "m audio mobile pre mk ii (audio interface), digital keyboard Yamaha psr i455, and i use Cubase 5, but when started using Reason 5 also, i felt i need one midi keyboard for making track, so i am about to buy novation impulse 61, now here the problem arises, how should i connect my midi keyboard? directly to my laptop, will this work?

I downloaded a 30 day demo version of Studio One this morning.

I wasn't really looking for a new DAW, but I like to know what's out there and how it compares to others I've used.

This is one of several new songs I'm working on for an album
this one is the closest to being done. Just need to add some backing vocals/harmonies on chorus and outro and a final keyboard track.

It's been awhile since I've posted. I've been working on my *skills* as it were. :-)

Here's a new tune - that is looking for a *home* btw - in case anybody knows *somebody* who is looking for a tune. I just have to throw that out there as I live way up high and remote in the mountains and don't have a hope in hell of networking with anyone. :-)

A fun discussion of what do you think?

1. Put a mix in front of a group of engineers and what do you think will happen, would any of them agree on a mix?

This is a pre-release version of a song a client of mine has recently recorded at my place.
I produced, engineered, performed and mixed, and then sent the 2 mix to Chris for his Mojo. He did an outstanding job.
