Does anybody know someone who does work on these machines in the Boston area?

I'm getting another irritating hum when i try to sample sounds from my computer again. this time i put my mpc and my computer on seperate jacks like yall recommended. is it the cables? Soundcard? Grounded wrong? What? Slowing up my production...severly..please help

Rather than bothering you guys and clogging your forum with basic questions, perhaps you guys can point me to a good basics book? I've seen a couple, but I don't know which are good, and which aren't worth the paper they are printed on... Or are books even the way to go? (If not, then how else can I learn the basics?) :confused:

WTF are midfields? I know what nearfields and mains are. Nearfields are the small boxes that you put on stands or on the bridge of your desk. Mains are the mega boxes that are soffit mounted.
