Trolling for Trident Info...
Hello,
Just another newcomer (to these forums) looking for gear info.
I'm looking for info on a Trident Series 65. I am familiar with the 80's, but that's it. Any one have ideas on how the 65's compare to the 80's? What about their value? Ok, I'm looking at buying a studio that has a 65 installed. Just wandering what I could be getting myself into.
Thanks

Need a "little big" console - HELP!
Really hoping someone can send me a brainwave here.
ProControl is soon to be a thing of the past in our "A" room. Rather than use Pro Tools A/D/A stages to interface all of our "cool guy" analog comps and EQ's, we are ditching the Pro Tools-as-mixer paradigm and going for something analog. Long story as to the 'why' of it, but this is the direction.

New Bug Found - pb2
Since the Nuendo forum is down again today (they have had a lot of hacker and dns related problems at Steinberg... poor guys!) I thought I would share my lastest bug discovery with the new crew here.

a H910 or H3000 style pitch shifter
All the pitch shifters I have found are formant based designed for a single monophonic sound. Are there any good pitch shifters in VST format that can work just like an Eventide 910 or 949? I'd love to pitch up and down a few cents, and even better I'd love to feedback the effected sound back into the pitch shifter to create that killer 70' effect.
Any advice?
steven john

Best budget 2 or 8 channel AD/DA converters
So a friend of mine wants to get into recording digtal and wanted my advice for a sound card. I told, as I do everyone else, get th RME Audio Hammerfall. He asked if he would really need 26 channels. I responded with, "not yet." Problem solved.

analog tapes [updating my point of view]
hi,
after a lot of lurking around, and some investigating, I've finally got my 2" 24 one week ago. It is a Tascam ATR80/24, with remote and auotlocator.
The audio shop where I bought it from, got me 4 used reels, absolutely unusable.
Anyway, I started to look for new tapes, to get a small archive, always ready to work.

pendulum vs. . drawmer 1969
ok. so i need a good stereo compressor. preferebly no super expensive.
these two look lik egood options:
the pendulum electro optical compressor, and the 1969.
and the 2 mic preamp's on the 1969 would be really nice.
but is the pendulum better enough to warrent no getting 2 mic preamp's and a DI for only 250 more?

What's your favorite piece of gear?
What Tascam gear do you own?
Which piece is your favorite and why?
What features are missing from your other gear that you think would make it more useful?

Problems with Nuendo
I recently started using nuendo on a 450 mhz amd k6 3 machine with 192 megs of ram and a 12 gig 5400 rpm hard drive and with windows 2000.
I was hopping to be able to at least run enough trks to do vocal comps at home. I can't even run 1 16 bit trk.
Any thoughts that could help without me having to upgrade to a huge machine.
Thanks
