AT5045P on drums
AT5045 sounds great on drums /overheads. These look like an excellent all round instrument mic. What do you think? The clips look easy to position and lock. Beautiful kit.

EV RE20 on drums
I dug out my old ( 1973/74) Electro-Voice RE20 this past weekend to record a drum kit with; in particular, using the RE on the kick; I guess I'd forgotten how great those old EV's sound on kick drum. It was pretty much "instant tone".

Mixing double drums: How would you pan them?
I'm mixing a project with two drummers on most of the songs, much like The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers etc. I've been pondering my panning approach and, though I've kind of got it figured out, it would be useful to hear what others have done or think they would do with two kits before I settle on something.
Drums - acoustic treatment
This is the drums/bass of the new piece ... nevermind the timing errors. I'll fix those ... but did the drums lose the room sound better?
We employed close gobos and blankets.
Thanks for the ears!

Fxpansion's First Release Since Merger, 'Black Album Drums' Expanion
Well, I think it's safe to exhale, my (our) beloved virtual drum company didn't ruin itself w their merger (yet). It seems they've continued their commitment to quality! Now to be fair this set was likely done before the merger, but it's a good sound.
Same drums different rooms YouTube video
this is pretty cool, I wish the clips were longer but pretty remarkable difference among rooms. Also insteresting to me was they used and RME/ISA 828 combination. This is similar to pcrecord marcos setup I believe. Man does that big room sound and look spectacular imho!

Tracking live drums
Decided to finally utilize my Mackie board for recording, so spent the day tuning and Micing drums. I am sticking with a basic 4 mic setup (kick, snare, ohL,ohR), but am also close Micing the toms to mix them with the OH's. The OH's will be basically the room sound, natural reverb. Setup is this: Kick: Audio- Technica MB series; Snare: GLS Audio 57 copy mic.
