Software for Basic Editing

I'm looking for a piece of software (Mac Based) that will do basic things. I'd like to edit EXISTING audio tracks (mp3's). I don't need to create anything. In short, I'd like a program that will allow me to create my "mash-ups" of songs. Using the waveforms to cut portions of songs looping them or moving them around. And changing the BPM's is very important for mixing the songs together.

Syncing a VS-880EX to Logic 7

Hello group!

I'm a brand new user to Logic and have previously been working on a CD project using a VS-880EX to record my tracks. I'd like to record them straight from the VS into Logic, having Logic as the slave in record mode, and the VS as the master in play mode, but haven't had any success. Any and all assisstance is appreciated. Thanks!

Audio Patch panel in video production studio

Last week I came in a studio which uses a Mackie 1604. It is hooked up to a patch panel which links it to the different recorders and computers. Everything is connected with TRS jacks. The patch panel is a stero patch panel. But i saw they only used Mono-jacks to patch the signal. A lot of equipment uses balanced signals( Mackie 1604, dvcpro recorder, edititing stations end so on)
