software to recreate acoustic instruments
Aloha,
I did a search but came up with nada.
I'm looking for software that will recreate the sounds of acoustic instruments reasonably well. What I'm after is something where there was a microphone, a player, and a studio involved in creating it. I'd want it to include electric bass for sure.
The same idea for drums would be great.
Any recommendations?

art tube pac
has any body ever had experience with this particular preamp? Im looking at getting one. It seems nice from what ive read and includes a compressor, said to be relatively transparents sounding. any input? or perhaps a re-direction?

My first channel strip and how to connect it
I recently purchased an API 3124 and couldn't be happier. I finally have that kick drum sound I've been wanting. Now I want to get something that's dedicated to recording vocals so I'm thinking about a channel strip. The primary mic that I'll probably use is a Lawson L47. I've heard good things about the following strips but wanted to get your opinion:

Guitar panning
Just got done listening to some G'n'R(Appetite for Destruction) and listened to the guitar panning. I've seen a lot of people write about panning and reasons not to pan hard L/R. But, it seems that G'n'R did it with great results.

AT3035 Questions
Ok I just got my Audio-Technica AT3035 and I have a couple of questions
#1 - Im suprised that it only comes with a small case. I remember my marshall mxl 990 being in a nice big case that is nice and sturdy. I hope this small case is just as fine.

AGC in software? For recording music festival this weekend
I've been asked to provide a computer and software to record a small bluegrass festival this weekend.
Looking for a software package that will allow me to record to a computer and have AGC too.
Is there anything out there that will do Automatic Gain Control?
Other options and suggestions welcome.
Simplicity is best.
Thanks,
Neil
Vintech Dual 72
What do you guys think of this unit as a 2 channel preamp. The price is really good at about 1300 dollars for 2 channels and its based on Rupert NEEVE preamps. Is it very good for general use?

about the locked discussion about software cracking.
Don,
I'm glad we agree on this discussion about cracked software. I would not have argued if I knew about your section's policy. I'm don't visit this section of RO very often, otherwise I would not have gotten started and wasted everybody's time.

Special Mixdown Software?
Hi,
I am mixing songs and facing problem with the software. I want a software specially for mixdown only (no samplers, no synth, no sh*t). As long as I can arrnage my tracks properly and with good FX Window, it will do for me. I found the famous software like Cubase sx and cakewalk are bulky.
