my computer is an iMac G4, 800 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM.
All this time I was thinking - getting DP would give me reverbs, EQ's and compressors as plugins -- I'm covered.

I have a $4500 budget (less would be better).

Ive been using my Manley Vari Mu for hrs on end,and am quickly realizing how much heat the unit generates.
I left a couple of rack spaces empty above the Manley n my rack and was wondering if it would be safe to place exhaust fans atop the Manley?-any ideas?

When a speaker says its rated +/- 3db on the feq response is that good and flat enough?

I have the onyx 1640 with the firewire running into the pc and I'm using cubase. Is there anyway to control the mix using the onyx instead of using the mouse and using the mixer in cubase?

i have a decent InTheBox studio based around digital performer and a handful of, what i feel, are quality plug ings (UAD-1, Sony oxford, URS)... however, i've been talking to friends of mine about the difference in ITB bouncing down a final mix... vs. outputting the mix into a piece of analog and back into a digital recorder.

Using the onyx firewire option I'm recording with cubase. After recording the track and vocals and getting a good mix, what should i do next to enhance the quality, or should i just export it to CD?
