In my band three of us have DAW software. Wouldn't you know it...I have Logic, the keyboard player has Cubase and the guitarist has Cakewalk.

Of course, mine (Logic) is the best ;-), but it would be cool if we could fairly easily share files beyond using just raw wav and midi files.

Anyone know what's possible or had experience of making this work?

I've heard a bunch of good stuff about this unit, especially from Fletcher saying it "ate the Lexicon 960 and TC 6000 for breakfast and sh*t them out before lunch" This definetly gets my interest going. But I still havent heard of anyone actually owning one of these.

can anyone tell me what are the best uses for this piece of gear? It's a solid state mic/line-pre with limiter from the 70ies.
From what I've heard, it's supposed to be a killer on guitar cabinets and bass. Any experiences? Recommendations on setting it up?

As a charter AGS member (Association of Gear Sluts) I'm always interested in any cool looking box with lots of knobs and lights. And speaking of cool looking, I've always wondered about the dbx Blue series (mic preamp, compressor). I don't think I've ever heard them mentioned around here, which is pretty unusual in and of itself. So what's the scoop? Good value? Pieces of Trash?

I need some help with the direction of our studio. We recently moved out of a office plaza due to lack of space. And have turned our eye on renting/buying a three (3) room 1200sq upper level condo and converting it into a private state of the art recording studio. The problem is:

I just finished recording 2 bands at their live show. I recorded the whole thing directly to DAT. Now that I have edited and mastered it, I need to burn the file onto CD. Normally I would use Sound Forge/CD Architect since I can use the regions as the playlist. Unfortunately, I have a new CD burner that Architect can't recognize.

No fancy test here, just me noodling around with a split signal out of my Les Paul. One line into a POD, and the other to a miked Marshall JCM-DSL2000 with a 1960A 4x12 cabinet.

I got a dm 24 only but only tdif will do 24/96
I heard the Mackie d8b will do 24 96 lightpipe

Anyone have 1st hand experience with both of these?
