A question about Sebatron mic preamps...
Hey Seb,
I'm just curious, do you preamps use negative feedback for gain control, or are they fixed gain with attenuation? I'm just trying to understand tube circuits better, learn the tricks of the pros, etc, so any other technical info you can share would be great. :)
Peace,
Al.

Mic Preamp in the $300 range
Hi,
This is my first post here. Looks like a great resource!
Anyway, I'm wondering if there might be a preamp in the $300 ballpark that might improve my setup. Currently I'm using my Mackie 1604-VLZ (not a "pro").

Focusrite G1 Mic Pre -- Any experiences?
Hey folks, just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Focusrite G1. I've got a potential deal on one, but would be buying it unheard.
I've liked everything else they've ever made, so on reputation alone it stands well.

Universal Audio Mic Preamps
I don't hear much talk about the Universal
Audio Mic Preamps on this forum much.
Many people use UA products like the 1176, La2a etc.
I use the M610 and have a 2108 on the way.
My friend has a 2108 and I think it sounds
amazing with a studio Projects C3.
Are there just plain better pres for the $.?
