1. Light Pipe - Mic Pre's 2. Digital/Analog Monitoring
I have a Pro Tools MixPlus+++++ system and currently use my Yamaha 02R for the mic preamp's and monitoring via Digi's ADAT bridge. I would like to loose the 02R because it takes up too much space and is not a great choice for mic preamps . I do not feel it worthwhile to spent a bundle on separate and expensive mic preamps and Line level to Light pipe A/Ds. . .
Mic Pre and Mics for Home Studio
I have a small home Studio with an 001. I am planning on cutting demo's and ideas for my band in my studio and want to get a good sounding mic preamp (2 channels) and a couple of mics (or 1 stereo mic) to use on overheads. I only got 1000-1500 to spare... any ideas?

Mic pre question...quality,sound
Hey All, I'm new to this forum,I have currently the peavey vmp-2 mic preamp with a D8b mixer. I will say off the bat the peavey is nice for the price but not a lot different except for warmer flavor.I would like to take my sound up a par.

Dedicated DI box vs. . Mic Pre/DI
Here's a subject I don't recall being discussed lately. It seems many mic preamps these days have high-z DI jacks built in. In my case I've got 'em on my API 3124+, Vintech 1272, TUBE TECH MP-1a, and Demeter H-series. I also happen to have dedicated DI boxes in the form of an Avalon U5, anda couple of Countryman Type 85 FET's.
