having read all the many posts on here from you guys praising the Sebatron gear - I was pondering on whether or not i should shell out the cash for some of their pre's.

going by dollar prices I reckon I could afford the vmp-2000e. or even thje vmp4000 - but i don't think i'd use all the channels!

i was just thinkin and wondering if the pickups actually make a difference nowadays. would i here a difference if i had the emg 81/85 in my amp or should i leave the factory pickups

I've got a DAW that has onboard pre's. No channel inserts, so there is really no way to get by going through the pre's.

I tried to use Skaletracker but I find this program to be very confusing.
Are there any other programs to sample drum in a advanced way.
(not fruity loops).
Where you can write the notes on a partiture and then select the samples you like.

Or a program that could convert Midi drum to sampled drum would be even better !
