Am I screwing up bigtime?

I am getting ready to drop close to $10K on a small project studio to record one or two performers at once. (All I have already is a Kurzweil 2000, Ibanez John Scofield, other acoustic, classical, and electrics, a Marshall amp, a Line6 AxSys212 amp, Mackie 1604 & 1202 mixers, Furman headphone distribution amp, Marantz cassette multitracker and some cheap mikes.)

2 Firepods at once?

Is it possible to connect 2 Firepods to a Powerbook at once? I know the FP has 2 firewire ports on the back - can you daisy-chain 2 of them together? I have a Firewire 800 external drive on the FW 800 port for storing audio.

I want to do this to record 16 tracks at once. Is there a better way to get the same results (16 at once) on a Powerbook? Or do i need to get a G5 Power Mac?

AT4040 on solo violin

I just used the AT4040 on solo violin this evening (just finished 20 minutes ago and wasted no time telling the story...) With it directly over the neck and aimed towards the bridge, the sound is absolutely stunning. Realistic, lifelike and quite warm and friendly. I used this as my main and the MG M296 omnis out about 2 meters in my small/intimate studio.

Stickies dissapearing-

Looks like RO auto trimming feature got rid of our stickies, '100 ways on getting the most out of your vocal talent' and also the one on voice lessons. Chris is trying to recover some of them and we will post them as soon as we can. Meanwhile, I though maybe we can start a new sticky on 'tricks and tips for recording vocals'
please add to it at will- thank you,
