Ok...I'm an idiot when it comes to midi. I'm borrowing my buddies 49key Radium and hooked it up to the midi input on my FW1884. I go into Cubase SX, add a midi track, and when I play I hear myself playing piano...cool, but every time I hit a key there is a short delay between when I hit the key and when audio comes out.

I'm mastering an electronica/rock demo, and my choices are:

Drawmer DL241
dbx 166A
Digitech VCS-1

I've used the dbx and Digitech for vocal compression before, but never for mastering. I heard the Drawmer is the best, is that true?

I will also be running the audio through an SSL to get more warmth.

Hi all. I am a drummer/aspiring studio-tech. I plan to add a digital drum repertoire to my studio. I know that the possibilities are boundless. I use Reason and know some about digital drum re-fills.
I also feel somewhat restricted when laying down beats on a keyboard.
I've played on some V-kits but only minutes at a time while in the music store.

What is the best way to archive projects?
External Hard Drive?
Software that backs up incrementally to DVD?

I am on a 1.25ghz imac, PreSonus firepod, studio projects C1 mic,

I've finally accumilated the above over 7months of living on canned

when u are bouncing pojects to disk, what format do u want to do it in. i just want the best quality where i can put it the track in itunes and burn to disk. any other soulutions or ideas?

so i have the standars Pro Tools le on my mac and i am used to messing around with a graphic EQ like in adobe audition/cool edit pro. i have tried messing around with the 4 band eq on here but i can really figure it out. normally i see that i have lows on one end and the hi on the other end. just kinda confused..

After being told I should persue this for years I am finally going after it. I want to explore voice-over work. I have done some reseach on the net and find all kinds of workshops but don't really know what I am looking at. Does anyone have any experience here and could you offer some advice about how to not get totally ripped off and learn a little about this subject in the process.
