alright, my MOTU 828 interface of course has a fiber optic in and out (ADAT?). i work with hometheaters and theater installs, and I understand that this single connection can transfer 8 discrete channels or audio. Can I use this connection to send 8 channels of audio being recorded to a DAT machine with the same connection? Is this how this works?

i am planning on recording some future concerts of my band. we are a three piece rock band, and our current gear will have to suffice, due to lack of funds. i would like to get a piece of equipment that would let me just stream my live audio to some sort of digital tape/CD, whatever.

I recently built an isolated piece of furniture for my CPU. and sent it a few feet away from my control room. Silence is golden and I now enjoy it.

However, there is a hum in my Event 20/20 bas that is constant whenever they're powered. This hum was always there but never bothered me, but now with no CPU noise, it became more noticeable.

Hi, I recently sent my CPU out of my control room and got every cable extension I needed. I have a Powermac G3 and a blue and white Apple Studio Display.

I also got a Belkin 6 feet VGA extension that fits the length perfectly. However the image is distorted, there's a sort of shadow right from every single letter and image on display.

I've heard of people avoiding latency problems during overdubbing by using an outboard mixer for input monitoring.

Is there any organization like this in existence. If not, why didn't someone think of it? They have a screen actors guild. WTF?

Any one notice the low end distortion on John Mayer's latest CD?
It sounds like it's just the drums & only the Matt Chamberlain tracks.
Chamberlain told me they used a woofer/mic to record the ultra lows
but there's a clipping sound as well it seems.
Listen to "Home Life" especially.

I am looking for a decent program that will change the key of a soundtrack w/out changing the tempo. Anyone know of anything? Thanks.

Many reviews, opinions, etc about amps, preamps, and converters refer to imaging, depth of field, and soundstage.
Is crosstalk what those people are talking about? Is there a laymans answer to why it is dificult and perhaps impossible to achieve 0% crosstalk? Is 0% a bad thing?I have never seen a manufacturer state 0% crosstalk. Then again, I don't get out much.
