So I ‘m recording an 8 song rock album. I want to record electric guitars, acoustic guitars, and vocals home and maybe also piano at my aunt’s house if I can manage the recording and bass if I can rent or get someone to lend me a decent one. I will record the drums and do the final mix at a proper studio or outsource the mix somehow.

Out of sheer G.A.S., I'm thinking about adding an LA-3A or two to my rig. Are they discontinued?

I've tried most of the top distributors and have chosen to go with UGF Digital permanently. They are an actual label and can get you in 800 stores with free marketing and advertisement. From what I gather they use their own network that already trumps Tunecore and CD Baby, plus they use the network of Sony Music (Sony/The Orchard). That means a lot more to me than receiving 100% from tunecore.

Audio interace 212 Focusrite with mic and all this connected to windows 7 laptop. Which has no DAW (mac is so much better!) I had to download the abelton live lite 8 novation edition that supposedly the complete version comes with purchase of scarlett 2i2 interface. What a pain in the ass it is just to use Ableton!

This may be an odd question, but does anyone know a way to make a voice recording sound like Colonel Campbell's voice when it starts going crazy at the end of the game?
If I had to guess, I would think it would be a combination of distortion and bit crushing/downsampling, even some periodic use of a pitch shifter.

Anyone familiar with the HHB CDR830 recorder? The unit works well with the exception that the mic preamp overloads easily. Seems like the mic preamp was an afterthought. Does anyone have a schematic or has modified the internal mic preamp to get rid of the overload? Thanks in advance..
