Record sampler to disk
Please help...
I got Unity DS-1 with DP and Unity manual says it can be recorded once inside DP... I tried routing aux to audio tracks, Unity to audio tracks, bouncing to disk... I got everything running and sounding, but still can't have it recorded to disk.
I must have the work done tomorrow evening and I'm starting to think I'm in trouble.

a sense of depth in the mix...
Just when it seems my mixing has improved in many areas (which it has, inevitably after much practice), I've yet to nail this one down.
It's what I hear on most of my favorite commercial tracks, and if I could conquer this one, It'll feel as if I'm 'almost there.'
The sense of depth within the mix.

(Sorry) PC vs. . 8 track dig recorder?
I know I can get a digital 8 track recorder, say BOSS for about $800 Can. and a decent condenser mic for upwards of $200,and I would have to get a CD burner unit for a few hun more at least.
But how does it differ from a computer set up built solely for audio recording, mixing?

Q for Harvey or any one else: need info on an old Reali
Hi Harvey and everyone.
As I was going through my equipment closet I came across the mic above. I didn't think much about it but became curious when I did a google search and found it was reviewed in an old audio mag (the body of the review was unavailable) and was part of the equipment in a studio. Another site had someone's opinion that it was similar to an AKG 431.
Soundcard Recommendations anyone?
Yup. I need some - under £300 (bout $350 USD) if possible.
At the moment I'm on a stoneage card - Soundblaster PCI64 and i have latency probs all the time in Logic and Cubase (strangely enough its ok in reason)
So, post 'em here, wiv links please! :D

Dual processor Mac's full usage
All plugins
OSX to "settle in"
Digital only interface
A cheap 96k session back up unit & media 'standard' to be established
Till then, I got work ta doo!

Advice needed on Hart Edrum/Alesis module consideration.
I'm not a drummer, but I can carry a beat and explain what I want to achieve to a drummer. I'm a studio recording musician and I'd like to lay down live beats rather than programmed. Do you think I can get started economically with an Edrum entry system
