hello everyone,
does anyone know if this altec preamp/mixer rack unit is any good? I found two in a pawn shop and i dont know if they are worth it for 150 bucks each... if anyone knows i'd appreciate your opinion!

Well, I took the plunge- I decided on two systems- a P4 system for the main studio computer, and a new mobo and rack case for my Celeron 700 to take out for 8 track live stuff. Here's what I ended up with:

Howdy. Ok, straight to the point. Heres my problem. Im looking into a career in Music Production - working in studios making music for stars and releasing my own material too.

Asus P4S333 W/P4 1.6a(northwood) and 512MB PC2100 DDR-300Watt ATX PSU(with the 4 pin 12v)
Appian Gemini 16MB AGP Dual Analog Monitor
10GB Fujitsu 7200RPM(OS and Apps)

Hello gang, bit of a strange question. I have a laptop I use for audio while commuting to my "real job" (aka the one that pays the bills) -

With every multi-track program I've used, when I play along with the first track, to record the second, the second track seems to be recorded at a slower speed. At least that's what it sounds like. So, when I plat the mix back, the tracks are out of time. Any suggestions?

btw - I'm currently using Steinberg Nuendo v1.52, and Acid Pro v3.0
