Hi all.

There are so many threads on so many forums on so many websites where this very issue is discussed so I wasn't sure where to start but believe I've chosen the right place to start and ask questions (based on the content of these forums).

G'day, new here.

I'm at an intermediate level of home recording. Have produced/engineered a couple of records, one of which was played on radio so at a certain level of skill but still consider myself a novice with much to learn really.

Been running an Maudio profire 2626 with a Mac, using Studio One as my DAW.

Anyone know of a good "GPS" tracking device I could put in a guitar case? I was looking at this, pretty cool idea, but appears to not work well and is now unavailable, been discontinued, shut down etc.

I am really hesitant to buy a $350 bass online for fear of the intonation or something like that being unacceptable. The model that I want to buy is currently not available in stores otherwise I would test it out in a store. Am I being too judgmental? From my experience these lower priced instruments go through relaxed quality control.

Just wanted to share a new recording studio tool I came upon through an ad: The Studio Progress Board.

I am attempting to record my drum set using 3 dynamic mics. I have them plugged into a Behringer mono analog minimix box which has no markers on it besides 0 and 10 on the gain knobs. I then have the box's output going to the line in jack on my pc. I'm trying to figure out the relationship between this preamp gain and the recording slider in Audacity.

I am using an Alesis Studio 24 for vocals in our rehearsals bought a Beheringer 1024USB mixer to run my in ears through. Using 2 overheads 1 & 2 CH and 2 Shure Beta52a combined on CH_3 on the Behringer and running 3 vocals 2 guitars and bass on the Alesis. I only want the vocals going to the mains.
