Audio dropouts during recording/playback
Forums
I keep getting audio droputs in Cubase when trying to record, also during playback, and it usually occurs within the first 30 secs - 2 mins, and never later than 5 – 7 mins without a dropout. ASIO time usage meter looks fine than indicates a quick random spike hence dropouts.

Live Monitoring approach
Forums
Hello,
I'm about to try a new approach to live monitoring in rock gigs.
Playing in a rock band, I always have issues with live stage sound. It's never good enough. So I'll try a new system in which I'll control my on monitor. (see atttached image).

Fixing a small chip in a guitar finish
Forums
I always wondered how they fix chips on acoustics. I just learned a new term call Drop Fill.
Dan Erlewine demos three of his favorite finish repair tips: super glue drop fills, Frank Ford's razor blade trick and strip-sanding with fingertip pressure.
Enjoy

Which Churches have the best acoustics for choral & classical music recording?
Forums
Hi All,
I'm slowly moving in the direction of being ready to record and to this end have started looking into which acoustic environments best support recording the kind of music I'd like to record, i.e. classical music in its many forms.

Hello, music producers, sound engineers, and musicians. Today I would like to tell you about a wonderful project, in which I was honored to take part.

Such a good acoustic song. This is where I see the current music scene as healthy.

Which Gear to use?
Forums
I am having a really hard time figuring out what to do. I have a project coming up with piano and solo violin, I feel like I am way over thinking things, but I cannot decide what to do. The hall we are recording in sounds amazing a little too reverberant but still a very gooding sounding hall.

Gigging at an ART Museum
Forums
Yup. The Butler Museum of ART in Warren, Ohio. Just finished setting up, only using one PA cab (12" and a horn) in here tonight; this place is VERY reverberant.
One thing I'm noticing - I haven't been to an art museum in a while - it's very "stark". Lots of white walls and sporadic modern art every ten feet or so.
