Hi all, I am getting ready to go the rack mount HD recorder route & am looking the Fostex & Alesis Models (Mackie's is simply outta range $$$).
I understand this mixer was quite well regarded c1994 but bombed. One's up for sale in the UK for about $2800 . Any thoughts?
It's fully modular but I'm worried about maintenance as this will be my first proper desk. Can't afford any new comparable desks (Ghost, Mackie) and this does look nice!
Thanks
Jonny
I just ordered it because this is a deal i cannot refuse! 166 euro's (180 dollars?) for a 2x5 band parametric eq from Alesis. So what's the catch? Does it contain 30 year old transistors or is Alesis desperate for customers coss this seems too good to be true.
pros and cons ?
a dealer is sending one to my studio so I can try it out ( and at good price new ), any comments are appreciated...
I was just talking to another engineer about his HD 24. I mentioned that I had some concerns about compatability in the future, and archiving. I was completely ignorant of the features of this device. He told me that If I picked up one of these babies icould interface with Pro Tools. Also i can assign an ip adress and pull tracks from somewhere else on the network.
Hi everyone. I am just starting to cut my
teeth, so to speak, in the world of recording. My current set up (simplified a bit) is as follows:
PreSonus Digimax 96 lightpiped in to Digi 001 on a Mac G3 w/ M-Audio Studiophile BX8s.
I recently purchased a used Alesis Quadrasynth (plus piano) keyboard and I have been unable to find a complete copy of the user's manual on the net. Does anyone know of an internet site that is good for this sort of thing?
I don't advertise myself as a mastering guy, but I end up doing "junior" mastering for projects that come in. I am recording to Pro Tools digi 001 and generally burning to CD, mastering right in the PT session.
