Allen and Heath Pres Class A?

Hey guys, just visiting a local studios website (a competitor of mine) and noticed he said his A&H Mix Wizard 16 is class A. (preamps) I have that board and like it a lot but is it class A? Just wondering. Also, anyone know of a good place to rent nice mic preamp amps? How bout finding a good used one other than ebay? Thanks guys.

I have a chance to get an Allen and Heath GS3 for my project studio for $700 US.
Opinions on A&H stuff?
This would be an upgrade from my current Mackie 1642VLZ - how are the A&H pres compared to the infamous XDR's?

just wondering what yall think about these two boards...
eliminated the Mackie and Behringer route and the Midas 160 is TOO expensive. i do mostly hip hop productions with an MPC and synths into PT via digi 001.
any opinions about the preamps for vocal and occasional acoustic guitar recordings?

Soundcraft Spirit FX 16 or Allen & Heath Mix Wizard

I am looking to purchase a live board that has direct outs and FX. Soundcraft Spirit FX 16 and the Allen and Heath Mix Wizzard both have these. . .
The primary function is to create a good FOH and Monitor mix. Secondary functions is to pull the directs off direct into Hard disk.

A&H Pres seem REALLY dark

Hey there,
Currently I am working with an A&H mix wizard 14:4:2.
Now it is possible I'm deaf, but I ALWAYS seem to have this yearning to crank up the high end on everything that comes through them, notably drums.
Is it me, or has anyone else experienced this with A&H?

Mic Preamps in A&H GL3?

Does anyone know if the Allen & Heath GL3 has the same microphone preamps as the GS3? I like the sound of these (the GS3) myself, they seem to be warmer than the Mackie which is what I've compared it with. I've found the GL3 at a price I can't resist and any opinions would be very welcome.

Allen and Heath internal link option

Does anyone know how to switch the "internal link option" in an Allen and Heath board?
From what I understand this can make the direct outs pre-fader and post-eq which would be perfect for me.
I assume that it should be pretty easy, right? Does it require solder?
