I have an AMEK tac magnum 36 channel console i just picked up, and the largest problem I have is that I cant find any online documentation like a users manuel, or anything Like that. so I will ask some questions I have here, and hope for the best.

I was wondering about the relative merits of these preamps. I know how they differ in terms of the knobs on offer, but how good are they? I'm particularly interested in the DMCL with digital converters.

I'm considering these as I've seen some good prices lately since production started to wind down.

The AMEK pure path CIB
The Focusrite ISA 428 (with digital board)
Klein + Hummel 0300D

I am just looking for people who have had any experience with these units. I am looking to buy the 0300D's and also would like to know peoples views on the above preamps.

I found this info on the AMEK webpage, Just in case you guys were interested.

After 15 years of a mutually beneficial and fruitful relationship, the Consultancy Agreement between AMEK and Mr. Rupert Neve has come to an end. AMEK is one of the group of Harman brands that is managed from the Potters Bar headquarters in the UK.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the 32 channel board ? I was not able to find any information anywhere. I know it's big but that's about it.

I am using Soundcraft Ghost as my main preamp for recording of acoustic instruments. I want to improve my the sound quality. I need a very high end preamp for most of my acoustic work. For this I short list AMEK 9098 Eq, Focusrite ISA 220, Langevin DVC. Please suggest me the best one for the highest quality.

we have been using an AMEK rembrant for a few years now and while i think its a good allround desk is there a way to increase its headroom as in that department its not that good.

I am in the prosess of buying a nice front end to my MOTU setup, and instead of buying a load of pre's, I thought I'd buy a nice mixer which will be much more versatile as well for mixing, routing etc...

Had a look at an AMEK BCII at Funky Junk in London. Looks nice, but it was still in parts for an overhaul.

I have the posibility to buy this mixer for 500,- euro...Is the price ok? I think its really cheap for a little AMEK or not?Maybe someone knows something about this little unit and can tell me something about it!
