Basics of Coincident and Near Coincident arrays.
I can't find or remember where I posted a similar thread so I'll just throw this one in for giggles. I was seeking info on some other subject when google sent me to AKG and I found the page good enough to link here for some of the beginners to large/small ensemble acoustic recording.

Mic Arrays
The subject of mic arrays comes up quite a bit or is implied in many of the responses to questions here at RO. Here is a vid of what appears to be a custom built Decca Tree with extra attachment points. Posting this vid is not an endorsement of any mic pictured or advocating using that many microphones all the time/as a universal application.

Triangulation with Microphone Array
I posted on this board a while back about what equipment to use to locate a singing bird within a microphone array. I purchased stand alone units from wildlifeacoustics.com to do everything I need (omnidirectional mics, gps for time syncing, and sd card for .wav file storage). We are going to have a total of 6 microphones.

Synchronized Microphone Array--Ideas and Tips Needed
Hi,
I am going to start off by saying I am a pHD student in evolutionary biology, so my knowledge of acoustics and what not are minimal at this point. I am enrolled in an engineering noise control class this semester to fix that.

Do you use a RAID array in your DAW?
I am trying to decide on a harddrive arrangement for my new DAW setup.
I originally thought about this:
1x WD 250GB for applications/installations/OS
2x WD 250GB for Samples/Library running in a RAID 1?
2x WD 750GB for Session/Project files running in a RAID 1?

Using Omni As Centre Mic in MS Array
First, let me apologise for hogging posts by posting two in a row but I am on holidays.
I have been doing mid side recording now for some time in a variety of contexts (foley, recording ensembles, choir) and using a variety of mic set ups. Usually I am using Sennheiser. MHH40/30 with rather loose middle provided by the MKH40. I like this technique.

When a RAID array drive fails?
:) Hi all! Just preparing for the inevitable, I have a RAID storage system with hot swap type drives. The system sees the whole drive as D, storage, in a network. If one fails, how can I quickly determine the lost content?

P.S. No Gremlin for crossed fingers, but I did knock on wood.
