in my search for an affordable, quality power amp to run my old yorkville YSM1s i have narrowed down to the Hafler p-1500 (or maybe the p-1000) and the ART SLA-1. The SLA-1 is the recommended match for the YSM1s (made by the same company, duh). both have had good reviews. any suggestions either way?
i might also try to repair this old bryton 3b up for sale in my area.

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Electro Harmonix 12AY7 vs the ART MPA GOLD(non digital)?
I'm trying to decide between the two and I'm having a tough time at it. I've been hearing nothing but rave reviews about the EH 12AY7, but would the MPA Gold be just as good or better if it were given a tube upgrade?

I've been trying out the ART ProVLA lately as a tracking tool and as a final limiter. So far, I have to say I've actually been QUITE impressed! I won't say it's as good as say the Manley (DUH!) but for less than $400, it sounds DAMN good.

I am looking to add another 2 inputs to my Tascam FW-1884 and wanted something that would warm up my vocals and maybe even my guitar tone with an SM-57. I found this on Sam Ash and can hook the sp/dif up to my Tascam I believe. What do you guys think of this particular unit?

Has anybody tried the new JJ Tesla ECC83S tubes yet as a replacement to stock OEM ones?

has any body ever had experience with this particular preamp? Im looking at getting one. It seems nice from what ive read and includes a compressor, said to be relatively transparents sounding. any input? or perhaps a re-direction?

What are the differences between these two or should I ask if you had to choose between these two which on and why?
