Hi every 1 i have been out of touch from this great website for quite sometime but now i have a band and we sighned a contract with a management company, we the artist take care of just the music creation and the management takes care of the revenue that comes to the band but without consulting with the band it tells the band that we received this much and that much has been spent over you.

I'm an independent recording artist/composer/producer/engineer, and I have pretty much zero experience with the business part of the music industry. In fact, I'm still working on my first serious album, and have never sold anything.

I've been using a stage name for a few months only to discover that another artist is using it.

The only difference is that mine has a 'Z' behind the name...So if his is Bubba Blocker, mine is Bubba Blockerz

He's been using it long before I have...

His genre of music is totally different to mine, he lives in Pittsburgh (I live in London).. He's unsigned.

Is there any organization like this in existence. If not, why didn't someone think of it? They have a screen actors guild. WTF?

Okay, so when labels have an artist who is self-produced, and owns their own studio...Do they budget any different? How do they approach that from a financial standpoint? Or more importantly, how does the artist/producer/studio owner approaches this financially?
