Just thought I would let everyone know about my recent purchases :P

I wanted a studio for recording, gut it had to be "portable". I often record at my mates house, so I needed to be able to get everything over there to record.

I grabbed myself a macbook; I needed a laptop for school anyway, and i really love the whole mac experience :P.

I am trying to set up my equipment to i can record music, listen to it, and then change the equalizer settings to make it sound better, and then use the first recording to record again with the new equalizer settings. i cant work out how to do this ! could anyone give me some tips please?

I have a Behringer UB1832FX-PRO mixer and wish to record with my pc. At the moment, I have the main outputs going to my PC, and a surround sound monitoring system in the monitor out. With an acoustic guitar in the line in, the pc picks up the sound, however I cannot make Sonar or cooledit detect this sound. I have tried selecting the inputs but still nothing...

The Behringer UB802 mixer has a preamp, phantom power and is 24-bit. What is the advantage of something like the Mackie 12 channel mixer, or something like the MBox? What will the ultimate difference in sound quality of a home recording be?

I have recently bought the Behringer UB1832FX -PRO mixer and was wondering how I would go about linking it to Cubase and, if possible, assigning each instrument its own track in cubase. Any ideas?
