RF Noise - a big problem?
Hi,
When I opened my studio about 8 months ago, I noticed a very small problem - or so I thought.
When recording an acoustic guitar using a pickup, direct into the desk in the control room, you heard a repeating, high-pitched, chirping noise.

Apogee Big Ben... Can you talk me into it?
I have a Digidesign Mix core card and 2 farms cards sitting around rotting, and I was thinking about setting up a mobile rig in road cases with them. So with that in mind I am going to pick up 2 Apogee Rosetta 800's with the X-Digi-Mix cards to plug right into the Mix cards.

Big Ben FW card
I wonder could anyone tell me what exactly this card is for? I took it for granted that it would allow signals to be passed to a computer, but apparently that's not the case.
I'm really curious about this!
Thanks!
John Stafford

Oh Yippeee! ... ... oh CRAP! My first "big" gig
I recorded the Indianapolis Children's Choir in a rehearsal room last year. I must have made a good impression because they just asked me to do a recording session (not a live concert) in this space:

Big jamming out speakers
I have a decent set of monitors, JBL lsr25p with a powered sub, that get me an accurate mix, but I am looking for some big speakers for the bands to jam to while listening to the tracks they've recorded. I kind of want to have a farfield monitor system but they're way too expensive, I don't want to have to pay like $5000-10,000 for some farfields.

Tragic "Big Name" Recordings
Just purchased the new Zimerman Rach concertos 1 and 2 on DG, and boy is it a sh*thouse recording and production. The big name engineers, producer and Emil Berliner studios should be ashamed of themselves.
