My first big job with a well known regional director came through the pipeline. ! I do a lot of smaller stuff for schools and churches, etc. but this one is big time.

If I use a rosetta on the S/PDIF ins on my mbox, being still limited to 24bit/48kHz in Pro Tools LE, amd I going to notice a big difference in sound quality? I use a RODE K2 with a Vipre and I'm pretty damned happy with the sound. An 1176 is my next purchase (very soon).

Hey everyone, i'm a first time poster long time reader. I finally got into the recording game recently as I wanted to start recording my acoustic guitar, so I got a MXL V69 Mogami Edition condenser microphone, and a Fostex MR-8 digital multitrack recorder.

My current signal path is, quite simply:

mic ----> M-Audio mobile pre -----> Adobe Audition 1.5

I am consistantly unimpressed with the acoustic guitar sounds I am getting no matter what I try and am trying to decide what piece of equipment is going to give me the biggest boost.

As always, I appreciate your opinions on these matters, you guys helped me out a ton with my initial purchases. I have some extra cash to blow on more gear, I just don't know which route to go, mic, rack pricessing, or hardware processing...

Here are my thoughts with the $1500 I have:

I have a TC Powercore, but would like to get a UAD-1 for more processing power.

So whats the 411 on this beeyatch?

Does it really improve the sound quility that much?

Is it really like using windex on your DAW wihout streaks?

Hi there.

I'm new to this forum and am pretty excited i found it, 'cause i'm planning to build a new DAW for a small project studio i'm setting up at my place.

While reading some threads, I realised that lots of people have similar questions concerning their DAWs. So I'm coming up with such a question, again... :D

What do you guys recommend speaker wise for hip hop or Dance music. I need extremyl accurate Bass that is tight and true. I don't want hyped upi sound. I want to be able to mix as accurate as possible.
I have right now JBL-LSR28p's They are cool but i am lloking for something that is louder and a lower extende range say down to 30hz

So i finally got my Cubase and nuendo active i recorded a test sound coming from my motif into a Tascam fw 1804 to my pc. when i recorded there was signal recorded as their should be...

Now here is the toughy. .

Ok. I just put together a computer for a friend(3rd one I've built) and everything seemed to be cool until I try access the BIOS and/or load Windows. The configuration I have setup is a 755-A2 ECS mobo (AMD 64 -socket 754) w/ a WD 120 HD (IDE) and a PLEXTOR PX-712SA DVD-R drive (SATA).
