Yet another budget home studio thread
Hi Guys,
After a certain (forced) absence from the site, I am finally coming to grips with my home studio.
I am in need of a mic preamp and a pair of monitors.
I have seen and heard (and liked, for that matter), the Focusrite ISA428. It also fits my budget.

Second Primary Vocal Mic - Not Budget Minded
I run a studio and do a lot of different recordings from singers to voice overs to acoustic instruments. I run through a variety of nice mic preamp's - Neve, API, Avalon, and am happy with my workhorse mics including the AKG TL-II. I need to purchase another mic and am looking for suggestions. Under $3,000.

Someone suggested to me that I look into getting an external wordclock since I can't really afford to by an 8 channel converter (like the Apogee"rosetta"). Can someone please explain to me how clocking externally can audibly improve my rig during playback and record? At the moment I have a PreSonus Digimax (8ch.

Best budget drum mic setup?
I have about $2000.00 U.S. to spend on mics just for Drums and would like to know what I should be looking at. It's very hard to make purchasing descisions where I live because none of the shops carry enough stuff to choose between ( actually listen to ). In Australia, everybody keeps trying to ram RODE mics down your throat but I want better value and sound.

Budget mastering software
Im new to recording and have limited equipment and funds, so if my method seems unorthodox, please forgive me. What I have been doing so far is recording through an analog mixer to a stand-alone 24 track hard disk (Mackie SDR). I track up to 22 tracks and then mix these while bouncing the stereo mix to the last 2 tracks.

Live Mics for Drums on a $500 Budget
Hey there everyone. I am looking to find a set of mics for drums that will be used mostly in live performances. If possible I would like to be able to use some or all of the gear for studio work to achieve studio quality results. All this on a $500 budget.
