Need some advice on some budget speakers to use for mastering (not mixing). Is there anything that could be recommended in the 500.00 to 2000.00 range? Audiophile speakers perhaps?

Hi! I've got $1200 to spend on some microphones. I'm going to be recording drums, 2 guitars, and a bass at the same time. I'll prolly just DI the bass tho. I was thinking of putting 4 mic's on the drums and then have 1 mic on each of the guitar amps. I also need to buy 5 mic stands and 5 mic cables so this needs to be in the budget.

My question is. what do y'all think of my first home studio equipment list, any suggestions.

If I'm reading you guys right, I'm hearing that an SM57 can sound like gold run through a great pre, but a $2G mic sounds like yik run through a cheapo pre-amp.

I'm only 17 and have been making electronic music for a while and I've been developing a lot in music production, but I am having trouble mastering. Normally I'll run raw recordings through adobe audition, use the eq that comes with the software, and use a voxengo compressor untill I get the sound I want. my main problem is volume.

Are there any out there that are a little less money and still work half decent? Thanks!

I was wondering what the best way would be to spend $4000 to set up a home studio. Many mics will be needed to record drums. Also, there will be two rooms, a tracking room and control.

opinions about the budget gear i can only afford. ive got about 250 dollars for a rack unit or whatever that can split monitor 1.4 inch outs from my pa and power three headphones for my three players. ive looked at Behringer cause its cheap.
