cache- 4mb vs. 8mb
Is there is a significant advantage to having a processor with an 8mb cache instead of 4mb as applied to a DAW?

RAM* vs. . CPU Cache Usage in Audio applications- Advice needed
Hi,
Getting a laptop for audio.
I wonder what would benefit me more:
Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.6GHz) with its 2MB L2 cache and 2GB RAM*
OR
Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz) with its 4MB L2 cache and 1GB RAM*
L2 cache vs. . Ghz vs. . . $$$?
I'm running my DAW on a Gigabyte GA-K8NS-939 (nForce3 Ultra chipset) with an AMD 64 Athlon 3000+ (1.8 Ghz) and 1 gig of RAM. I've had this just over a year. However, my projects have now become too taxing for it to handle.

512 vs. . 1mb cache
Given the same cpu, how much difference does the extra cache make real world?
Also how can AMD cpus have a higher model number and a lower clock speed than a chip with a lower model number?
i.e 3700+ = 2.2 ghx, and 3400+ = 2.4 ghz?

Hard Drive Disk Cache
Can anybody tell me what exactly the hard drive cache affects? I'm probably going to buy an OWC elite, and am trying to decide if I should get a 8 or 2 MB cache drive.

WriteCache
Should this be disabled for audio discs?
I know it is possible that data could be lost, but is the performance gain worth it?
Also, I know you don't want this on a system disc but if you have another audio disk is it ok to turn this on?
