Mic Placement for Choral Recording
Forums
I've never attempted to record a choir of any size. All of my experience is in the studio with no more than 3 vocalists.
Where would you place mics for a choir of 30-50 pre-teens. I've been asked to record a Christmas CD for a Junior Highschool Choir.

Live choral recording on a tight budget
Forums
My choir is preparing for a spring concert, and I - as the hifi nut around - have been assigned the task of researching how to do a decent recording of the event. We are on an extremely tight budget (I couldn't even get a figure from our head of finances) - so we are really talking next step up from nothing.

Choral Music at. the Superbowl?
Forums
Not sure if anyone watched it, but there was a nice moment during the pre-game show where the combined four choirs of the American miltary performed the National Anthem. (Yeah, no wailing, improvising, endless "interpretations" this year. it was "no surprises and right down the middle, content-wise.)

Choral Recording - my Sebatron 's maiden voyage
Forums
This was a freebee - so I took some liberties to experiment. I think it worked. Tried my new preamp - experimented with mic positioning - used ORTF - hadn't done that before. Wanted to be able to balance the choir and the orchestra, so the choir mics (NT5) are above and toward the rear of the instruments. Orchestra mics (MK012) are behind the conductor.
