Recording in Church - Where do we start
We have a medium sized church about 400 max at each service and we want to start recording our services and special events like the Christmas pageant. I know there are several topics related to church recording but I'm looking for some real basic info. We have a decent sound system, our church is a half octagon shape with four speaker sets above the main section.

recording flute/piano in a church
Hey all. I'm recording a flute/piano concert in a church next sunday. was looking for some mic placing suggestions. the mics i have available to use are two mxl overheads, 2 c3000b's and a C414B.
I was thinking about just using the c414 as an omni and putting it in front and over head, it's gonna be a pretty quick setup, so anything simple but effective would be cool.

I'm desperate:( Mics placement in the church (Gefell 270M)
Dear forum fellows
I'm now a happy owner of a pair of the Microtech Gefells M270, but I'm desperately dissappoited in my recording skills while using them.
Well, it was my first production when I was recording with omnis, but still I have my ears, but they let me down.
Recording choir in large church
Hi all
I'm starting to get some practise on on-location recording,
but I feel a bit intimidated by my next project.
I'm asked to record a choir (55 people) in a large church

Recording drums in a big stone church
I`ve got the opportunity to record in a big stone church. It has stone tiles on the floor and 3 out of 4 walls are concrete. The last wall is wood/cloth. The ceiling is wood too.
I`ve been reading several places in RO that the bigger the room, the better, when it comes to recording drums.
The church is about 30x30 meters and floor hight is aprox. 12 meters.

Brief church choir project update, and appreciation
Well, we're at the point where we're about to take advance orders of the CD. I've done pretty much all the mixing and mastering I can do with my current setup and level of experience, and I have to say, the finished product is pretty awesome, at least to these unpracticed ears (and also to everyone else who's heard it so far).
E-Drums for church no cymbals, drums only. Who rules?
I need excellent feeling and sounding e-drums for stage noise purposes. I will never use sampled cymbals, because they are sterile. But I know that the drums themselves can sound really good when sampled right. I have some samples from Sonic Implants that I love. So I know its possible, but is anyone out there "making it happen".
