Advice or tips on recording RCA audio to computer.

Hello, the names Priest. First time poster and newbie to the game.

I would greatly appreeicate any advice or tips I can get on recording audio from the white and red RCA plugs to my computer.

What I have

1) Realtek HD soundcard. Has 1 line in port, 1 front line out port, 1 back line out port. (the base card that came with my Gateway)

New Computer- Please advise

I am looking to put my old PC out to pasture and am trying to build a new one myself. After digging around here I think that this would be a pretty good direction to start in and would still leave room for more upgrades in the future. If you would be so kind as to let me know what you think and tell me if I've left anything out, it would be much appreciated.

Playing a CD into a computer for mastering...

Hi everyone, my friend's band is releasing their first CD on a small indie label, and the mastering engineer has requested that they send a standard 16 bit 44.1 listening CD as the master source, which he will "play" into a computer via an analog front end. Is this a standard practice for some mastering engineers?

can computer/programs handle multiple imputs simultaneously?

i can of course use a stereo out from a mixer into a stereo imput into a computer card jack, but i want to be able to record seperate tracks simultaneously and edit them seperately like i could on a multitrack tape player. this has to be possible on a pc, but how?

The best way to work with a digital computer with a DAW

If you have a digitlal mixer, it seems that you really should route all your tracks from your from your DAW to the mixer. If you don't, then you can't use any of the effects of your mixer, nor can you sum in the mixer which would allow you to use routing, pan and other controls on your mixer,. You might as well just get a controller, no?

Cubase SX 2.0 and a regular computer mic...a good mix?

Forums

People!

I need help. I am using Cubase SX 2.0 and a stupid computer mic to record. But for some reason I can't record. I read the manual but it won't give me any tips on how to record with regular computer mic. Is this even possible? (feeling confused) I used sound recorder but it's stupid and only will allow me to record for 60 secs and i want my song to flow.
